Annex SL
The high-level structure shared across ISO management system standards, ensuring common clauses, terminology, and core text.
Context of the organization
The combination of internal and external issues that can affect an organization's approach to its products, services, and stakeholders.
Documented information
Information required to be controlled and maintained — replaces the older terms 'documents' and 'records'.
Interested party
Person or organization that can affect, be affected by, or perceive itself to be affected by a decision or activity.
Risk-based thinking
An approach that uses risk and opportunity to drive planning, resource allocation, and decision making across the QMS.
QMS
Quality Management System — the set of interrelated processes used to direct and control an organization with regard to quality.
ISO/TC 176
The ISO Technical Committee responsible for quality management and quality assurance standards, including ISO 9001.
IAF
International Accreditation Forum — defines the transition policy that certification bodies follow when standards are revised.
